Whilst many around the world have moved on with life and forgotten about the tragedy of March 11, life for people in Tohoku is still far from normal. Whilst shops, business and essential services may be back to business, there are still many people living in temporary accommodation, still others in shelters, or staying with friends, and many who still have their houses are waiting for carpenters to renovate. To date a large part of the cleanup work has been cleaning out the damaged houses. But there is still the big task of repairing these houses.

We continue to pray for the rebuilding of homes and lives in the north-east of Japan, where March’s earthquake and tsunami hit. We are thankful that so far eight of our workers (plus two short-termers) have had the opportunity to join relief-work trips; another six will go up over the next month (mid August, and Sept 8-14) – please pray for their safety and their witness.

*A short term team from Korea and one family from Hong Kong arrived in Japan this week. The Korean team have already met with people in Yamashina and through Kaori church. The family from Hong Kong are based in Hikone (Megumi Church). Pray for a warm and memorable witness for all.
*A team of six missionaries travelled to north east Japan on Wednesday July 6th to 'mud out' houses affected by March's earthquake and tsunami. Pray for their safety and work until July 12th, and also for the affected households to hear of and know the love of God.
