This month we had a 7-day visit from Jeahyun and Sewon, a Korean couple who plan to come as long-term workers from March 2009. Let’s pray for them in their preparations to come.

Hello all!
Thank you once again for continuing to stand with us in prayer. Our banner this season shows autumn leaves, and soon we will indeed see that change. However now in mid-October, we’re still seeing many sunny days!
This time we return our focus to the northern block of churches, and I want to introduce to you an exciting new church planting development coming out of Nagahama Church.

Thank you once again for continuing to stand with us in prayer. This month we welcome three short-term workers, Peter, Fabian and Elina! Peter and Fabian are both from Switzerland and will be with us for three months; Elina is from the UK and will be in Japan for six months. Pray that they would quickly settle and be used by God here.

In February, I started doing some research into a missionary who was active in our area before the Second World War. One of the things I found out was that he had a church in Maibara, the city next to Nagahama… but when I went to look, I found there was no church there now. In fact, Maibara is the only city in Japan with a bullet-train-stop but no church!

New missionaries for WEC Japan-Chungkyu and Unmee Lee will arrive from Korea on the 5th of this month with their two children (Seungmin and Seungyeon). Please pray for them in all aspects of settling, adjusting to new circumstances, and learning Japanese language.

The excitement of the powerful, unique and joyful Gospel!!
Rakusei Gospel Choir has been running every Thursday evening since it started in January this year. Pastor Okumura and his wife Michiyo lead this music ministry, full of grace and joy.
Christians and non-Christians, even beginners at singing, join together for the joyful experience of singing the Gospel. Anyone who would like to sing is welcomed at anytime. The church aims to use this as an effective way of spreading the Gospel.
Please pray for the remainder of the Summer Camps being held in the first two weeks of August. We pray that God will work in the hearts of many Japanese, and that the camps would be effective and enjoyable.
As August is an especially hot and humid month in Japan, energy levels are usually running low. Please pray for our workers who are taking holidays back in their home countries – spending time with family and reconnecting with sending churches.
