Latest Prayer Points

August this year is an especially hot and humid month. Many Japanese have died or been hospitalised from heat-related causes; pray for health and salvation for Japanese people.

Please pray with us for opportuni-ties to follow up with contacts made through camps, and that people would draw closer to our loving saviour.

Please pray for Madi as she spends her final few weeks in Australia and then settles in as a new worker in Japan..

Pray also for Peter as he prepares to join us in 2011.

    WEC Japan welcomes back one of our workers, SeongJae Yu from five months furlough and into a new stage of multiteam ministry.

    Next month one of our missionaries, Jill Smith returns from extended time at home. Please pray as she prepares to return to Japan.

    The end of year is fast approaching with many events, both christmassy and otherwise. Things get underway this month with a combined Gospel Concert on the 21st. please pray for people to attend and the gospel to be sown both to the singers and audience.

    Pray also for the organization of the many end of year and Christmas outreaches to come. Pray too for opportunities to invite people, and that they will attend.

    On a Short-Term Mission

    Jenny Lyon from the UK came to Japan in 2009 for a short-term mission. Here she tells us about her time.

    ~ I went to Japan because I felt God calling me to use my fascination with the country and the language for His kingdom.

    ~In Japan I was helping with children's clubs and camps, teaching English and generally getting involved with things and getting to know people.

    ~ My favourite parts of my time in Ja-pan were the summer camps, and living with a Japanese family. They were so much fun and I loved getting to know people.

    October prayer points

    We give thanks for the 150th anniversary celebrations of the birth of Protestant missions in Japan, on the north island of Hokkaido last month. Those from our team that went were pleased to be able to meet friends from other mission agencies and join in the conference.

    Bee Choo Ong was recently given the joy of witnessing the salvation of a student-seeker at a KGK camp. Praise God for his grace, and do pray for the student as he prepares for baptism.

    September Prayer Points

    As I write, many missionaries and Japanese church leaders are meeting in Hokkaido in the north of Japan to celebrate 150 years of Protestant mission in Japan. Martin Crowhurst is representing WEC; please pray that it would be a beneficial time for all.

    Both Chunk-kyu and Unmee Lee and Sewon and Jaehyun Choi would appreciate prayer for wisdom in thinking about their future ministry, and for continued development in their language study.
