Latest Prayer Points

August 2010

August this year is an especially hot and humid month. Many Japanese have died or been hospitalised from heat-related causes; pray for health and salvation for Japanese people.

Please pray with us for opportuni-ties to follow up with contacts made through camps, and that people would draw closer to our loving saviour.

Please pray for Madi as she spends her final few weeks in Australia and then settles in as a new worker in Japan..

Pray also for Peter as he prepares to join us in 2011.

The average member of many Japanese churches is often a lady with a non-Christian husband. Indeed, most outreach undertaken by churches and by us as missionaries seems to be more effective in reaching Japanese women than men. It is often felt that one reason for this is because the men's social life is tied to the company making it hard for us to access them. Undoubtedly this is often true, but it's not the whole story...

As missionaries, we are here in  Japan eager to find effective ways to communicate with people God's love and hopes for each one of them. Nevertheless, most Japanese might listen politely, but then treat God with indifference, as though He isn't directly relevant to them.  Yet many Japanese do carry 'felt pain' and it is as an illustration of this, as much as of the ethical problem, that has encouraged me to give you a glimpse into the issue of abortion in Japan.
