Latest Prayer Points

Pray for those new missionaries studying Japanese full-time at the moment: Sophia, Rosa and Kaki. It’s around now that the difficulty really starts to increase!

Rita Feldt has gone back to Germany for six months deputation. Jill Smith will be pastoring Ishiyama church while Rita is away, and asks for prayer for “wisdom and understanding, grace and love, humility and good relationships.”

Also at this year’s field conference, we discussed our relationship with the SFDK, the network of Japanese churches we have planted. We want to find the best way to work together in partnership. We are still deciding the details and need to do so consultation with them, so please pray for God’s wisdom and direction.

World Missions Day 2010

Last month we enjoyed our annual World Missions Day held at our headquarters. This day is all about building up awareness for world missions, a chance to catch up on news of Japanese overseas missionaries and a time to pray for mission work all over the world.

This year we were blessed with a guest speaker from WEC Korea, Mr. Byong Kook, who gave a challenge for the Japanese churches to start sending out more missionaries to other countries.

The children also enjoyed a special program – with singing and story time.

A delicious Korean banquet was provided for lunch, and was eaten in Indian and Mongolian themed rooms. After eating we spent time praying in these rooms for our overseas missionaries – Chiemi Saiyama in India and Keiko Ogami in Asia.

Would you join with us in praying for more Japanese Christians to answer God’s call to mission work, not only in unreached Japan, but in other countries yet to hear

about God?
