Latest Prayer Points

On November 24th we will hold a World Mission Day for our network of churches. Please pray Japanese Christians are open to God’s call to serve Him overseas. Pray too churches and pastors are convinced of God’s heart for the nations, and their part in praying, giving and sending.

Jaehyun and Sewon Chois and Jaenbaeg Lim are in Thailand at a WEC leaders training conference. Pray for them to be refreshed and ready to share and practice what they’re learnt when they return.

History

Our history

At the end of the Second World War, General MacArthur called for a thousand Protestant missionaries to Japan. WEC's work began as a response to that call when Lon and Yvonne Fulton arrived in Japan on February the 23rd, 1950.

Why still just 1%?

The gospel message first came to Japan 450 years ago. Many are now asking why it would seem that the message has, as yet, failed to reach significant numbers of Japanese. Just thinking about this prompts a number of questions. Is this assumption even a fair one to make? What has been achieved? What has hindered Japanese from being more responsive? What hope is there for change?
